Canapés for PVD Lady Project at Newport Polo
September 29, 2014I was delighted to be asked along to the PVD Lady Project's afternoon at Newport Polo, to provide the lovely ladies with suitable nibbles to accompany some delicious Ruffino Prosecco and Hint Water.
My only option was (obviously!) some delicate canapés, packed with flavour but dainty enough to pop in one's mouth without getting horribly messy or compromising one's Prosecco glass holding hand.
To compliment the stunning sunny weather, perfectly chilled Prosecco and some fabulous company, I served up:
Savoury
Brown bread cups filled with horseradish cream and topped with smoked salmon
Parmesan shortbread with tomato, balsamic and basil jam
Salt and pepper crostini topped with green olive and picquillo pepper tapenade with prosciutto
Crab dressed in herb and lemon mayonnaise on cucumber plates
Sweet
Chocolate cream tortes in pretzel crust cups topped with sea salt
It was such a wonderful day at the sunny Newport Polo ground in Portsmouth, the flavour packed bite size morsels were just the right accompaniment to the crisp prosecco, cheering crowds and air of refinement a day at the polo evokes!
